VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS

Restore Physiotherapy is now offering the option of virtual physiotherapy assessments and treatments using our secure Telehealth network. Even with the clinic re-opened for face-to-face treatment, if you are immunocompromised, not feeling well or are still taking full precautions with your health, we are still here for you virtually if needed. These appointments are covered by your insurance companies just like a normal visit.

Many people question the effectiveness of virtual physiotherapy services. But, what does the research say? A recent systematic review demonstrated that telerehabilitation produces similar outcomes to face-to-face treatment (Cottrell, M. A., Galea, O.A., O’Leary, S.P., Hill, A.J., & Russell, T.G. (2017). Real-time telerehabilitation for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions is effective and comparable to standard practice: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Clinical Rehabilitation, 31(5), 625-638.)

You may be wondering how this is possible if your therapist can’t provide hands-on care? There are plenty of things that can still be done. For example, your physiotherapist can still: learn your history, rule out red flags, take you through movement assessment, provide you education and guidance, and guide you through corrective exercise.
